A 50-mile canoeing trip down the Delaware River, from Trenton, N.J., to Wilmington, Del., Dr. Main is going to paddle 50 miles, and plans to raise $50,000, so that 50 teens can stay off the tough streets of Camden, be gainfully employed, and learn valuable leadership skills. It costs about $1,000 to train, employ, and mentor each teen (or StreetLeader, as they're called) for eight weeks. More importantly, that money allows our teens to serve as summer camp counselors, so we can reach more than 500 Camden children each day.
